Widiastuti Setyaningsih graduated cum laude from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Indonesia with a Bachelor of Food and Agricultural Product Technology. She received her M.Sc. from Gdansk University of Technology in Poland, University of Barcelona in Spain and University of Cadiz (UCA) in Spain under the frame of European Master in Quality in Analytical Laboratories (EMQAL).

She was working at food industries for several years as a person in charge for Quality Assurance Department who deals with food regulation and quality control. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Department of Food and Agricultural Product Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, UGM, Indonesia. She is a member of the editorial boards of an accredited national food science journal (AGRITECH) and a supervisor of an ISO 17025:2005 accredited laboratory which is belong to the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, UGM, within the scope of Mycotoxins Analysis in several type of foods. She is a member of the Indonesian Association of Food Technologists (PATPI).

Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral studies in field of food analytical chemistry at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Cadiz, Spain. Her research is focused on method development and validation for bio-active compounds in food samples as well as development of functional food products. The results of her research were published in certainly high impact factor journals and presented during some international conferences in 13 countries where she has been awarded the best oral and poster presentations.
